Director of Pain Management and Manager of the Gibson Peri-operative Surgical Home

at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT (

about 70 miles northeast of New York City)

. This is great opportunity to work in a role that combines supervisory and clinical responsibilities. Work to the full extent of your APP license. The role will be about 40% Administrative & Clinical in Pain Management and 30% Clinical Pre-Admission Testing and 30% Supervisory in Pre-Admission Testing.This is an employed position with a collegial and stable team where you will work with about 30 physicians in the Anesthesia department and 2 Nurse Practitioners. Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital with 371 beds, providing Greater Danbury area resident's convenient access to exceptional care. In July 2014, the hospital debuted our new 40,000-square-foot Emergency Department, doubling the size of the ED with a streamlined triage area, state of the art technology, and all private patient rooms. We have 71 treatment/consultation areas including a 12-bed express care area, four alert/high acuity rooms, and a seven-bed crisis intervention area. The ED includes a dedicated imaging center, a specialized pediatric unit and a direct-access heliport that expands the hospital's capacities as a Level II Trauma Center.

Job Summary:
The Director Pain Management - Anesthesiology is accountable for the oversight and assurance of programs related to Pain Management, including education of physicians, nurses, residents, patients, and other clinical staff. Ensures that safe, efficient and compassionate quality care is provided to patients. Serve as a resource to physicians and staff as a first responder to resolve immediate issues related to pain management. This is a decade old established service that is well regarded within the hospital.Manager of the Gibson Peri-operative Surgical Home- This service is presently in its growth and expansion phase.You will work with and supervise two Advance Practice Providers in the preadmission testing clinic where patients are assessed, evaluated and risk stratified for upcoming surgical procedures.You will work under the direction of an anesthesiologist who serves as the medical director.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program or completion of a Master’s degree, APRN, FNP, AGNP or DNP, State of CT RN and APRN license and Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner.
• CT PA license, and/or APRN license, CT Controlled Substances and Federal DEA Registration
• Current provider certification in ACLS and PALS or obtained within first 6-12 months of hire
• At least 50 hours pertinent CME annually
• Good interpersonal communication skills, work well in a team
• 5+ years PA or NP experience required with a preference for some experience in Pain Management, Palliative Care, Hospice, Oncology or Primary Care
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience a plus
• Available to work Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 5 PM, no weekends or evenings but may have limited call
