This position can be 100% remote for candidates based anywhere in the US. If you prefer to work in a hybrid model (part time remote and part time from an office), we can offer a hybrid environment from one of our offices located in Canton, MA, Edison, NJ, Jersey City, NJ or Greenwood Village, CO.

Computershare has an exciting opportunity for two brand new permanent full-time Support and Release Engineers, to join our Computershare Technology Services (CTS) team based in the US. CTS provides global technology and infrastructure/support services for existing Computershare proprietary software together with a full range of development services for new products.

A role you will love

The Support & Release Engineers are responsible for analysing user and technical problems across a wide range of both internal and external facing applications. They are also responsible for executing regular deployments for the same suite of applications. As a member of the team you will be responsible for maintaining the appropriate Windows and Linux Server Environments, SSL and Netscaler Configuration as well as the delivery of internal projects.

Support & Release Engineers are also responsible for managing Computershare’s build and deployment platforms and utilising them to drive towards continuous delivery. The team is also expected to contribute to Computershare’s technology stack by enhancing existing processes, including a substantial initiative towards automation. These Engineers will constantly look to standardize key processes and make good use of scripting languages such as PowerShell.

The team is reliant on close collaboration with both operational and development teams. Acting as consultants, they are expected to assist other technology teams to configure environments and ensure the delivery of robust applications and services.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Provide support and incident resolution to the Business escalated via the ‘Service Point’ system
  • Deliver exceptional service and resolve incident and requests within SLA or agreed timescales
  • Work closely with Infrastructure, Network and delivery teams to provide stable, highly efficient virtual and cloud platforms
  • Participate in on call rotation along with weekend events (such as Disaster Recovery tests and Production Event Weekends)
  • Manage Windows and Linux Server-based hosted environments, including:
    • New Environment Builds
    • Deployment
    • Patching
    • Netscaler Configuration
    • Monitoring, etc.
  • Deploying and Maintaining Computershare’s Software (built on the Java and .NET stacks, leveraging Oracle and SQL Server Databases)
  • Liaising with DevOps and Development Teams to ensure consistent delivery of software services.
  • Automation and Process Improvement scripting using PowerShell

Along with your strong organizational and time management skills, you’ll also bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with supporting day-to-day platforms and products
  • Knowledge of the IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks, etc.) within a related industry
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • Works well both in a team, and independently
  • Able to self-motivate and works well under pressure
  • Keeps knowledge up-to-date, is a technical resource for others, follows technology practices and standards
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills to resolve issues quickly and make decisions that meet customer objectives
  • Able to work with both technical and those with limited understanding of technical concepts
  • Strong accountability and results-oriented, with ability to set priorities independently, provide follow-through, and meet objectives
  • Fundamental Experience in Java and .Net Application Server management (IIS, Windows Services, Scheduled Tasks etc.)
  • Strong mind-set to enforce security standards, both in the environments and when collaborating with teams

Bonus points if you have:

  • Good understanding of other Infrastructure technologies
  • Knowledge of VSphere, Java and Microsoft .NET Stacks, Windows Server, Netscaler, Octopus Deploy, Team City, PowerShell, Tomcat
  • Working knowledge of Linux: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, Oracle Linux 7

Compensation. Approximately $85,000 - $105,000 per year USD, depending on experience.
