We are looking for a business development (biz dev) account manager with 3-5 years of relevant experience to join our expanding team. You will support practice leads across enterprise technology, cybersecurity and healthcare with business development strategy, management and content development.

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to work with seasoned leaders across our agency crafting communications strategies, articulating our best work through case studies and driving agency PR with media coverage of our work and people.

This role will span admin, coordination, content creation, marketing operations and analytics. The position is ideal for someone who takes the initiative, is an excellent problem-solver and is exceptionally organized.

Essential Functions

    • New Business
    • Manage inbound new business inquiries, ensure new leads are vetted by practice groups in a timely manner
    • Support leadership team and practice leads with new business intake calls, scheduling meetings and ensuring opportunities are followed up or closed out
    • Work with pitch teams to ensure every proposal and pitch has a dedicated project manager, content lead and pitch captain and each response follows our project management process
    • Support and manage logistics for outbound campaigns, including building prospect lists, sourcing contact information, drafting email content and distribution
    • Coordinate with agency marketing to ensure a steady cadence of new business win announcements appear in industry media, leaders are profiled and we have a full PR calendar
    • Work with team members to create impactful, business-goal oriented case studies - maintain the case study database and ensure new case studies are published on our website and social channels every month
    • Promote our new business process across the agency through regular lunch and learns, office hours, agency trainings and by educating our interns
    • Maintain agency-wide marketing calendar
    • Actively update and maintain HubSpot and pull reports as needed

    • Content & Design
    • Contribute to new business and agency-related content creation, including video creation, blog posts, and social media
    • Assist with designing pitch decks and RFPs for prospective companies, including coordinating and overseeing extended designer network for projects

Agency Operations

    • Maintain a respectful, enthusiastic, and professional attitude towards coworkers, clients, and outside colleagues and lead team by example
    • Support teams and manage up and down
    • Responsible use of flexible work policies
    • Uses Highwire social channels; writes for Highwire blog
    • Attends regular networking events

Self Development

    • Proactively set up quarterly goals with principal; track against goals and demonstrate growth
    • Effectively prioritize responsibilities based on impact, timelines, workflow and client goals.
    • Drive projects forward independently, eliminating the need for managers to consistent check in re: follow through/ task completion.
    • Identify areas for self-improvement and bring suggestions and solutions to management.
    • Consistently hit deadlines or give enough notice if you won’t.
    • Attends regular networking events.
