About these roles:

The Veteran Employment Transition (VET) Program is a nationwide 8-week Spring and Fall internship that converts directly to a full-time opportunity based on performance. We're hiring a class of 75 - 85 interns to begin on September 12, 2022 starting with an intensive training and orientation led by professional instructors and senior Wells Fargo employees. You'll network with your peers and Wells Fargo leaders while developing your skills and knowledge of our financial products and services before joining a team of experienced Wells Fargo employees for on-the-job training and development. If you are a problem-solver who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, working hard to achieve a goal, learning new things, and improving yourself, this program might be a good fit for you. In addition, successful candidates are team-players who work well in a collaborative environment and have strong situational analysis skills. All ranks are encouraged to apply as we are hiring at multiple levels. This program is NOT DOD SkillBridge eligible as it's a Wells Fargo paid internship.

Program Expectations:
  • Must be able to start September 12th, 2022 and attend full duration of 8-week internship program

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Service in any branch of the United States military
  • Able to work on the first day of the program, September 11, 2022

The Technology Engineering Group has the following opportunities:

Data Engineer: (Available locations: Charlotte, NC; Chandler, AZ; Dallas, TX; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ; San Antonio, TX).
  • Develop database architectures to address business needs in data engineering
  • Data analysis, design, and development tasks for building data pipeline into the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) environment
  • Project support for a variety of use cases in the Consumer & Small Business Banking domain
  • Opportunities to work with open source toolsets such as Spark, Kafka and Hadoop in an Agile development environment
Desired Qualifications:
  • Data analysis or SQL experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Development experience with Kafka, Spark, Scala
  • Working with Hadoop/Big data environments
  • Understanding of Process Mining/Business Process Management fundamentals
  • Experience with Celonis Process Mining
  • Experience with RPA (Robotic Process Automation)
  • Experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools, like Tableau
Engineering Associate: (Available locations: Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Minneapolis, MN).
  • Participate in the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and support of technology solutions to complex and challenging business requirements in a variety of domains
  • Develop skills in a specific domain with the help of self-paced training and mentoring from senior team members
  • Support the implementation of moderate to complex projects/initiatives
  • Learn and understand compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area
Desired Qualifications:
  • Analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence/Analytics tools like Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau
  • .Net or Java application development experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology object oriented: design patterns and their application
  • Knowledge of Agile/Kanban practices
  • Debugging experience
  • Ability to learn from and interact with a diverse set of team members in a very fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library framework
Lead Software Engineer: (Available locations: C harlotte, NC; New York, NY; Dallas, TX; Minneapolis, MN; Chandler, AZ; San Francisco, CA).
  • Design and Implement Full Stack Java based custom tooling solutions aimed at automating and optimizing away toil
  • Instantiate Site Reliability Engineering practice at Wells Fargo EFT igniting the practice, principles, and culture leading by example
  • Assist in training skilled peers and partnering with peer platform embedded SRE teams
  • Introduce enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovation improving availability in a multi-cloud ecosystem by evolving observability, monitoring, logging, dashboard visualization, CI/CD integration and continuous testing
  • Introduce continuous improvement, standardization/automation, capabilities to conduct destructive and resiliency testing
  • Introduce self-healing and autonomic capabilities solving for complex operational and systemic issues with precision including building and training models, automating cognitive processes, leveraging Robotic Process Automation, Unified Communication, and AI/ML
  • Automate key SRE metrics and IT Service Operations processes including customer impact, % availability of critical business flows, SLO/SLI adherence, and error budget
  • Automate incident process for IT Service Operations through data integrating with unified communications, alerting/notification systems, and evolve ChatOps to reduce time to recovery
  • Share support responsibilities for critical applications and customer journeys on-boarded to SRE including remediation of issues through Agile
  • Conduct blameless postmortems, root cause analysis, and introduce continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications:
  • AIOPS: Big Panda, Moogsoft, Artificial Intelligence (Al) and Machine Leaming (ML) Frameworks
  • Operations Tools: ServiceNow, Remedy, IBM Netcool
  • Data/Data Structures: SQL, Oracle, DB2, Mongo, Hadoop, Cloudera, Spank, Teradata
  • Testing: Gremlin, Chaos Monkey, Selenium, jmeter, Blazemeter
  • Capacity Management: Turbonomics, BMC Truesight, Geneos
  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Incident Management System experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Configuration Management Tools

Senior Software Engineers: (Available locations: Charlotte, NC; Summit, NJ; Des Moines, IA; Chandler, AZ; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ).
  • Develop, deploy and support moderately complex software and custom code solutions. This may include writing code for .NET web applications, interfaces, data feeds, etc. Performs application modeling, simulations, and analysis
  • Prepare program test data, tests, and debug programs
  • Utilize vendor specifications, diagnostic tools, etc. to troubleshoot complex computer application problems to maintain or restore service or data to programs
  • Lead the resolution of complex issues or escalates as needed to meet established service level agreements
  • Complete required logs, reports, documentation, and user guides
  • Apply understanding of Business Continuity Planning (BCP), data quality, data integrity, security and compliance requirements for supported areas and analyzes changes for risk to the environment
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

Senior Systems Operations Engineer: (Available locations: Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Des Moines, IA; Chandler, AZ; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ; San Antonio, TX; St. Louis, MO. Salt Lake City, UT is an option but not guaranteed).
  • Work as an Enterprise Middleware Support team member to ensure Middleware products are fully supported and compliant within security policies
  • Ensure critical routine support related to Application, Web and Messaging Servers occurs according to SLAs
  • Assess both Linux and Windows servers to resolve products like WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache, IHS, and IIS
  • Perform day to day routine maintenance, configuration drift, vulnerability resolution, and certificate management

Systems Operations Engineer: (Available locations: Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Chandler, AZ; Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ. Raleigh, NC and Philadelphia, PA are options but not guaranteed).
  • Participate in complex technical issues and initiatives related to large scale applications, systems, databases, or other technical products and services
  • Identify opportunity for process improvements within technical support strategies and plans
  • Review and analyze technical queries to extract data, create standard databases, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supporting low to medium risk technical deliverables
  • Present recommendations for resolving complex technical queries
  • Exercise some independent judgment to analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements while developing understanding of technical process controls or standards
Work as an internal consultant regarding use of tools and processes
  • Provide information related to supported system area to functional colleagues, internal partners and stakeholders, including internal customers
  • Evaluate Service level agreements and identifies gaps in current technology support processes
  • Update and write documentation, procedures, and provides related training to peers when needed
  • Help troubleshoot test environment network, hardware and software issues and coordinates resolution with users, vendors and internal service groups
  • Help develop/design test scripts
  • Help with tracking and communication of test environment/production incidents
  • Helps with the coordination and management of change within the test and production environments
  • Analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements
  • Assess changes for risk to production and helps assure overall quality, security and compliance requirements are met by the application
  • Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan
