The Diversity, Equity, and Social Responsibility (DES) group within the Human Resources department at NYCEDC guides the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan focused on embedding effective diversity, equity, inclusion, and social responsibility practices for the organization.
Position Overview: The Program Manager will support the conceptualization and management of programs that build diversity, equity, and inclusion at NYCEDC.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and implement Diversity, Equity and Social Responsibility Programs (including researching and retaining outside speakers/vendors)
- Create and execute in-house Diversity, Equity and Social Responsibility Programs (including creating materials and being the primary speaker and/or moderator of the program)
- Conduct D&I and other research on best practices/benchmarking
- Assist in developing multi-year diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategic plans
- Help define Inclusion & Diversity project deliverables and then assist in executing initiatives from inception to delivery and finalization
- Review internal and external benchmarks to help drive D&I focus areas
- Assist and compile data where needed with all compliance reporting and audits
- Aggregate, analyze and develop bi-annual Diversity Metrics and prepare company-wide report
- Help prepare presentations to leaderships to achieve objectives and to drive ownership for diversity deeper into the organization
- Assist with content development and posting for the company intranet site, stakeholder presentations and reports
- Assist in the management of the Employee Resource Groups and associated events
- Partner with Employee Resource Groups to ensure alignment with overall business objectives, and diversity & inclusion strategy.
- Ad hoc administrative support duties, such as meeting materials preparation and event set-up
- Plan and coordinate various Diversity events throughout the year
- Work as a liaison with the AVP of Learning & Development to facilitate DES trainings
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Proficient in MS Office Suite with strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Models respectful and inclusive behavior to foster a climate where different ideas and opinions are valued
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience managing internal and external partnerships, including senior leaders and cross-functional partners
- Demonstrated analytical skills; experience tracking data, reporting, and providing metrics
- Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple projects for VP of DES
- Able to implement diversity programs from conception to completion
- 2+ years of experience in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion space
- New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire
