This is a multi-faceted position that will require extensive work in the areas of instructional technology support and desktop systems support throughout the Pace community. The Technical Specialist delivers Level 2 and Level 3 desktop technical support as well as creates and augments automation processes for software deployment and Operating System rollout. Day-to-day tasks range from troubleshooting advanced desktop, printer, application, and mobile device issues to package building and deployment via SCCM/Intune and Jamf. Top-level critical analysis and customer service skills are essential for this role. The right candidate must have a proven ability to prioritize and execute many tasks with attention to urgency. This position directly impacts the front-end support effort of IT at Pace.

Position Duties
  • Provide advanced technical support at the desktop level for both administrative and academic users by installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware/software/peripherals.
  • Building software deployments and running reports with Systems Management software such as Microsoft SCCM/Jamf.
  • Write scripts using languages such as Powershell, Batch, Bash to automate processes for both technical staff and end-users.
  • Deploy new desktops/laptops for end users ensuring data integrity post-migration, information security compliance, and proper asset management recording and tracking.
  • Create documentation for Client Support procedures and policies as well as making sure the internal knowledge base is kept up to date.
  • Works closely with Client Support management to test and implement new solutions, trains staff, and organizing of departmental procedures.
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant certifications with 3 years experience in an IT service organization.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills on Windows & Mac operating systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware.
  • Experience with Powershell, Batch, Bash.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, SCCM/Intune, Jamf.
  • Excellent customer service ethics/skills.
  • Ability to act efficiently and independently with multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities in a busy work environment.
  • Must display independent critical thinking skills and dependability to resolve user or student worker issues while maintaining department policies.

Work Hours
Hours may vary from Monday through Friday 9:00AM – 5:00PM. Additional hours may be required. May require travel between campuses.

Minimum Annual Salary Or Hourly Wage
$60,000 per annum

Maximum Annual Salary Or Hourly Wage
$62,000 per annum
