Cornbread is looking for a Chief of Staff, who can facilitate and implement decision-making on behalf of the organization. The Chief of Staff shall serve as a liaison to the Board of Trustees, provides oversight and management of the Committees of the BOT, ensures preparation and completion of minutes, and maintenance of records of the Board. The Chief of Staff shall work closely with the Leadership team, the Board of Trustees, and members of the community to ensure effective planning and policy administration, and compliance to maximize Cornbreads operations.
The exciting things you will take lead on:
  • Acts as a senior adviser to the Owner and Board of Trustees on policy and program development facilitating effective decision-making and coordinating the execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate the development and management of organizational policies, structure, and functioning in the areas of administration, and risk management to assure well-integrated, coherent, and effective oversight of these areas.
  • Oversee the leadership and effectiveness of administration operations and work with leadership team to address issues of risk avoidance and assuring compliance.
  • Manages labor relations.
  • Provide close coordinative support to the leadership team
  • Manage key stakeholder events to promote and support the organization within the community.
  • As a member of the strategic team, provide strategic thinking based on trends and leading practice within industry leaders, make recommendations for new operational strategies, programs and/or revisions to existing policies to senior leadership and other groups.
  • Conduct research on a wide range of subjects related to the overall management and operations, as well as special projects and programs initiated by leadership team.
  • Provide overall budget management.
  • Aid and provide advice and consultation to assist the Board Chair in the preparation of the BOT agenda.
  • Oversees and coordinates any matters in support of the Board such as meeting notices, public notices, retreats, etc.
  • As a member of the senior team, coordinates the business of the Board and liaises with the various Committees of the BOT. Organizes and prioritizes issues between the Leadership team, the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders.
  • Prepares senior staff with the application of process and procedures for standards related to presentation to the Board.
  • Oversees administrative staff to make all necessary arrangements for scheduling logistics and details surrounding Board and leadership meetings.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of roles, and organizational structure.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience providing management support to a high level executive, including overseeing commitments and ensuring priorities in an intense dynamic environment;
  • Have demonstrated strong business acumen, able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels effectively on given topics and having strong judgement on how to make sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate and direct multiple projects and activities with varied deadlines, utilize sound judgement, be a strategic thinker and effective in moving strategic agendas, and be both savvy and ensure utmost discretion in all matters;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Liaise with Marketing Manager to prepare presentation material and speeches on behalf of the Leadership team that are effective and goal oriented.
