Computer Engineer (Control Systems)

Responsibilities:

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking to hire a Computer or Controls Engineer.

The Computer/Controls Engineer will support an exciting new Navy program! This engineer's responsibilities will include:

Support design, development, modeling/simulation, test, and integration efforts for Naval shipboard Control Systems.
Analyze, test, and propose solutions to problems for oprational software.
Develop equipment integration designs for networking, supervisory control systems, simulators/stimulators, and other test tools/systems.
Support Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) prorgamming and testing.
Develop software using Java code. Develop controls algorithms and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).
Perform development for Kubernetes environments.
Provide engineering for the development and maintenance of hardware and software documentation and requirements.

Qualifications:

BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.

Minimum 3 years professional engineering experience

Strong Java experience

Experience working with Linux/Unix based sytems, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Experience with version control systems (preferably GIT)

Experience with shell scripting (primarily bash)

Understanding of networking basics (i.e. TCP/IP, UDP)

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Experience with Siemens and/or Rockwell PLCs a plus

Familiarity with Agile software development practices a plus

Virtualization experience (ESXi and other VMWare products) a plus

Familiarity with Cisco networking software and switch configuration a plus
