The DOC seeks two Administrative Leave Support for the Human Resources Employee Services Unit (HRESU). Under general supervision of the Director of Human Resources Employee Services Unit and the Benefits/Leave Supervisor, will perform a wide variety of professional services for the Human Resources Employee Services Unit. Duties will include and not limited to:
- Assisting with all aspects of leaves within the Department including Family Medical Leave (FLM), Paid Parental Leave (PPL), Paid Family Leave (PFL), Childcare leave.
- Reviewing all leave correspondence, including calculation projections for all leaves to determine eligibility, leave type, commencement of leave and leave balances.
- Providing employees with guidance on all categories of leaves of absences via phone, e-mail and in person.
- Coordinating and working with the third-party insurance carrier for City of NY Paid Family Leave (PFL) requesting timely notification schedules.
- Managing and assisting with other tasks related to Resignations, Leave of Absence and Workers Compensation data preparation and data analysis based on Unit's needs;
- Tracking of all incoming cases, ensuring that matters requiring immediate attention are handled appropriately.
- Assisting in all administrative responsibilities within the HR Employee Services Unit
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal);
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio;
- Must have the ability to work well under time constraints; handle and maintain confidential information.
- Excellent customer service, with the ability to multi-task on multiple assignments, while adhering to established deadlines;
- Strong ability to pay keen attention to details, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
