In this leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing training strategy, managing and coordinating a variety of learning programs, training content, and training facilitation for both internal and external audiences. As a member of this retail operations team, you will be supporting sales and marketing with best-in-class training solutions that improve brand awareness, brand advocacy, product knowledge, and recommendation rate of Samsung Digital Appliances at retail. You may also be called upon to represent Samsung at media events and sales meetings.

Responsibilities and Duties:

As part of the Digital Appliance Retail Operations team, this role will be in our Consumer Experience & Content organization, focused on working with a cross-functional team within both our North American headquarters as well as our global headquarters in Korea, to build learning experiences and content, that results in an increase in recommendation rate for Samsung Electronics America (SEA). Detailed Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

  • Manage and lead the day-to-day operations of Samsung’s Digital Appliance training, and manage a team of National Trainers to ensure interactive, highly engaging implementation of training programs

  • Develop product launch implementation strategies for new product launches that include gap analysis, budget, evaluation of internal resources, delivery methods, content development, and evaluation of program success

  • Manage the development of all Digital Appliance training content and ensure content is aligned to the business needs and arms the retail salesperson with the knowledge and skills they need to sell our products

  • In partner with Learning Curriculum Manager, determine and develop training and evaluation strategies for field representatives (Market Sales Managers, or MSMs) and act as the subject matter expert to develop content that aligns with business needs and supports the Samsung Select Field Academy curriculum

  • Work with sales and marketing leadership to develop a by-account learning and development strategy to impact brand awareness, brand advocacy, and product knowledge at the retail level

  • Work with cross-functional domestic and international stakeholders (PR, Demand Generation, Product Marketing, etc.) to determine content development needs and solutions

  • Provide on-demand reporting on training team performance, MSM performance, and training participation for all training events and all product rollouts

  • Manage and work with external vendors – including sourcing vendors, working through a Samsung process, budgeting, and ensuring accountability. Understanding of technology solutions and operations from a learning perspective

Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience Required:

  • Creative: Create learning experiences that enable the adult learner to achieve the desired learning outcome

  • Collaborative: Ability to work closely with various divisions of SEA and outside vendors, gain business acumen, and understand what is needed to drive success in a timely manner

  • Critical Thinking: Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to continuously improve training strategy and related offerings

  • Adaptable: Ability to switch gears due to the demand of the business in order to meet new deadlines and priorities

  • Strategist: Ability to translate business strategy into learning outcomes to drive sales

  • The candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Background in retail, digital/home appliance vendor community-based OEM’s a plus. The ideal candidate brings superior executional ability to drive out content and material with accuracy in a timely fashion to impact our retail partnership.
